Teaching??? Alphabet Wall Stickers Are Just the Beginning...

Are you a teacher? Maybe you're a homeschooling Mom. Or, maybe you're a little of both and want to give your kids a head start on learning. If so, I think you'll be excited to see the NEW peel and stick, educational kids decals that are available now at Kids Decal Corner!

Between chalkboard stickers and USA / world maps and dry-erase calendars...

Alphabet wall stickers are just the beginning to all the fun kids can have while learning!

Here are some of my favorites:
This interactive USA map has peel and stick states to help kids learn all 50 states of our great, big United States :)
The individual states can be stuck and re-stuck over and over without loosing their sticky. The repetition is a wonderful asset to learning.
This particular United States Map Kids Decal is 28x18 inches. A removable, re-usable teaching tool.

Measuring 24x36 inches, both the United States map and the World map are both dry-erase! What's not to love??
These maps are great not only for schools, but for homeschooling, offices, libraries, cafes or just for cool wall decor in your den!

Speaking of dry-erase, this packed of dry-erase kids decals are sold 3 per pack, measuring 9x13 inches. Great again for anywhere you are teaching or kids need to practice penmanship or older kids need to keep track of their school assignments or sports schedules. We have a variety of dry-erase products; come check them out. You won't be sorry!!

Need to teach your toddlers their ABC's or numbers... we have lots of alphabet wall stickers to fit just about any style and taste! Here are the most popular decals:

And here is my personal favorite:

I have these Colorful Alphabet Wall Stickers in my house - they're amazingly durable and adorable!!! My kids love them.

Well, that's what's NEW and exciting at Kids Decal Corner, in the educational department! So to all the teachers and teaching moms .... Happy Teaching :)

Baby Room Ideas Made Simple with Nursery Wall Decals

One of my goals for this new year is to share blog posts of Inspiration... instead of just decal related material. However, I can't help but seeing (and suggesting) how childrens wall stickers and mural stencils can make your decorating projects faster and easier and oh so stylish!

This post's inspiration comes from Better Homes & Gardens picture/article entitled, Baby Room Details. Check out the link for the full story and lots of great pictures and ideas!

Baby rooms are so much fun to design and decorate, however there are lots of points to consider while you're brainstorming. This article is helpful in highlighting the useful, organizational, and decorative elements to a nursery.

Here's a few ideas I thought were most helpful:
  • Baskets and even towers of baskets are a great way to not only store all the items a baby needs, but they add a fun and decorative element to the room. My suggestion: Use chalkboard stickers (cut to fit a cardboard or wooden plaque) to label what's inside each basket. Attach them with coordinating ribbon. Because chalkboard stickers can be cleaned and reused, it makes it easy to change the contents of the basket and still stay organized, especially as the child grows and you need the baskets for toys instead of blankets or diapers :)
  • It doesn't have to be expensive to decorate a nursery.... in this article they suggested framing simple childrens art. I like the idea of creating themed art with the use of nursery wall decals. Check out this old blog post for making your own art using decals.
  • Pick out furniture that will grow with your baby. Corner cupboards or armoires are great for storing the necessities for babies and yet they are versatile as the child grows. Consider how you can personalize and decorate these pieces ... try painting the back panel of the armoire a coordinating color or paint the nobs of a dresser or even monogram a headboard. If its too scary to use paint, try our peel and stick monogram nursery wall decals!
Framed art... or try making your own using nursery wall decals.

Dress up your dresser or changing table by painting the knobs!
Well, folks, hope you enjoyed this little post of inspiration :) Don't forget to check out the link for more great ideas! Happy brainstorming!!! And as always, we love to hear your comments or questions here at Kids Decal Corner!

Gettin' Christmas Crafty With Childrens Wall Stickers - Project 2

Kid's Christmas Garland

Here is project # 2 using the same holiday childrens wall stickers from last week.  Like I've said in so many of my posts, these decals aren't just wall stickers for kids, but can be used in so many fun and creative ways!

This is how I made the garland. This craft project would be great for kids 5 and older.

1. Supplies:
Kids foam sheets in white, red and light green. I purchased these for a few dollars at AC Moore.
Glitter Glue
Ribbon, Jute, Sparkly Star Garland
Mini Clothes Pins
Let it Snow Kids Decals
Scissors
Hot glue gun

2. I applied the stocking and ornament decals to the foam sheets.
Cut out the foam to match the shape of the decal.
I learned the hard way that after applying the glitter glue, it pulled the edges of the decal off the foam backing. I suggest using either foam glue or a hot glue gun to lightly glue down the edges of your decals. This way as the glitter glue dries, it won't pull up the edges.

3. Decorate the decals with glitter glue, sequins, buttons, whatever your imagination comes up with.

4. Apply the decals to the garland ribbon/ jute with mini clothes pins.

5. Attach bows or tinsel or whatever to dress up the clothes pins.

6. Enjoy your kid-friendly Christmas Garland!
Stay tuned for the final ( and easiest ) project using the same set of decals...
Happy Decorating!!

Celebrating Toy Story 3 Movie Release with Kids Decal Sale!

"Toy Story 3 has entertained children and parents alike (and has made at least one childless, unmarried adult male in his thirties cry) to the tune of $110 million dollars in its opening weekend," according to Yahoo Movie Talk.

Even if you've never seen Toy Story 3, I can't imagine that you could be living in the United States and at least not have heard of it. It's been a HUGE success with many endearing characters over the years!

The movie release is in a few short days... NOVEMBER 2, 2010!

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of the post, I thought it would be fun to play "Did You Know?" in regards to fun facts and "Easter Eggs" of the movie.

DID YOU KNOW?
1. Did you know that "there are 302 characters in the film?"
2. Did you know "Ken wears 21 different outfits in the movie?"
3. Did you know "Woody has 229 animation points" in his face alone?
4. A few "Easter Egg" finds for you to hunt for when you watch the movie next time
             * "A113," the number of a classroom at CalTech where many Pixar animators studied, shows up as   an Easter egg in every Pixar film. In the "Toy Story" series, it's the license plate on Andy's mother's car.
             * Sid, the bully from the first movie who wears a skull T-shirt, appears as a garbage man in the new film wearing the same skull T-shirt.
             * There's a postcard on Andy's dresser addressed from the featured characters from last year's "Up," Carl and Ellie Fredrickson.
             * A significant amount of the film takes place at a daycare center. At the daycare center, Mr. Ray the Scientific Stingray from "Finding Nemo" makes a cameo. Nemo himself appears as a sticker on Andy's toybox.
             * Buzz Lightyear's batteries are from "Buy 'N' Large," the giant corporation responsible for ruining the planet in "WALL-E."

In celebration of these friendly and funny characters that so many children love...

New XL Wallpaper Decals At Kids Decal Corner!

Transform your child's bedroom, play room or school room in minutes and with little effort when you use...

XL WALLPAPER DECALS!!

pooh and friends wallpaper decals
Large murals are an ever growing trend in decorating... just watch HGTV or Ultimate Home Makeover Sunday nights and you'll see what I'm talking about. Murals transform a room like nothing else!
There are a few ways to get an impressive mural on your wall. You could pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for a professional, hand painted mural, you could paint one yourself - which is very time consuming and not all of us are artistically talented. Or, you could use a vinyl coated XL wallpaper mural - which is both time saving and affordable!

The XL Wallpaper Decals/Murals that we sell at Kids Decal Corner, are made by Roommates. They are  chair-rail size and measure 6 feet high by 10.5 feet wide! Unlike our peel and stick kids decals, these murals are not peel and stick or reusable, but they are easily applied and just as easily removed.
The murals come in pre-pasted sheets of vinyl coated paper. Simply cut along the dotted lines, to form long strips, place the strips (one at a time) in warm water and apply to the wall, smoothing out the bubbles and ripples with a soft wallpaper brush. That's it! No artistic talent needed, No lengthy project, No costly bill!

You can expect to have your room transformation completed in less than an hour!! How's that for time efficient?!

What is super cool about these murals, is they are made to coordinate with the peel and stick kids decals for a complete room makeover! All of the wallpaper decals you find at Kids Decal Corner, have matching peel and stick decals to apply in the other smaller places of your room. Or you could make your own complimentary art work (Check out this blog post for detailed tutorial on how to do this)!

princess and frog wallpaper decals

All our wallpaper decals are sold for $164.95! They do take a bit longer to process and ship... but since your order would be over $75.00... you would get FREE SHIPPING (within the continental US).

Kids Decals and Creative Moms!

Hey folks, going short but sweet today :)...

The best part of business for me is seeing the creative ways that customers have used their products. So here are a few pics of what two creative moms did with their kids decals!

First we have Jeannine who turned an ordinary deacon's bench toy chest into a work of art. After painting the bench, she added the Transportation Kids Decals to make her project one step better! And the best thing about these decals, is they can be exchanged for new ones when her son get's tired of the cars and trucks. This mamma is thinking ahead, because she already ordered the Jungle Adventure Kids Decal! for just such a day! I love how Jeannine has demonstrated the versatility of the decals we sell at Kids Decal Corner. When tastefully done, they can turn an ordinary piece of furniture ( or wall, or door, or whatever is smooth and dry) into a unique, one of a kind masterpiece!

Great job Jeannine... I love the colors you chose for the bench too! I'm sure this will be a big hit with your son!

Second, is Pamela. She is the winner of the Scroll Tree Decal giveaway... and she also did a great job using this decal to creatively put the finishing touches to her daughter's room! The decal totally adds a completed look to the already cute decor! Now what baby isn't going to like waking up to those cute characters every morning?!

This is what Pamela had to say about her decal "This product is fantastic! Great quality and easy to use!!!!!"

Thanks ladies for sharing your pictures and homes with all of us! It's always good to be inspired!

Be inspired.... shop at http://www.kidsdecalcorner.com... and happy decorating!!!

Make Halloween Luminaries With Kids Decals!

Halloween Kids Decals

Make these fun and spooky luminaries to light up your night of trick -r-treat!

This past week when I got my Taste of Home Cooking Magazine, I saw they had this cute idea of how to make luminaries with some old glass jars, tissue paper, decoupage glue and ribbon. I adapted it a bit and included some really adorable Halloween Kids Decals.

Here's the simple directions on how I made these (by the way.. it took less than an hour to make 4 luminaries)
1. Gather your supplies:
         glass jars - varying sizes
         tissue paper
decoupage glue - like Mod Podge (If you don't have any of this, you can use equal parts of Elmer's glue and water to make your own paste )
         paint brush
         ribbon
         Halloween kids decals

2. Using your decoupage paste, cover the jar with a light layer of glue.
Gently press strips of tissue paper onto the glue. It works best to overlap a few layers. Fold the paper over the top edge - making sure it's pasted down... and the bottom. I trimmed up the top edge of paper before I glued it down.
Allow the paper/glue to dry.

 3. Put ribbon or jute around the neck of the jar.

4. Once the jars are dry, place the decals on the them.

5. Place tea lights inside the jars, light, enjoy.

Here's pics of the spooky little luminaries that I made with my kiddos!

The great thing about using decals, is you can peel them off the jars and use them in many different ways for years to come.

I like to give credit where credit is due... so thank you Taste of Home Cooking Magazine for the inspiration. If you want to see the original idea, here's the link.
